If you take part in one of our events your name will appear in the results and be published on the web. Your name may also appear in the local newspaper reports.
We take photos at our events which may be used for promotion of the sport and club; including posting them on the web, displaying on local posters, illustrating club or national newsletters and accompanying newspaper articles. The club will not directly link juniors names to photographs.
If you have a pre⁃existing medical condition that you think an organiser of one of our events should know about should symptoms arise while orienteering, you can download a form on the following link. Medical form
MapRunF
Solway Orienteers has set up some courses using an app called MapRunF. There are currently 5 courses in Dumfries & Galloway with more on the way. To find out more go to the WHAT'S NEW page of this web site.

Dock Park and Troqueer Street O event.
This will be a retro street orienteering event and SI timing will only be used to record start and finish times. There will be no controls or markers out on the two longer courses. The competitor's job will be to navigate round the course finding the answers to a series of questions. The answers will be found at the centre of each control circle, navigate there and you will find the answers.
Competitors will need to bring along a pencil or pen to write with.
Start and Finish are both located in Dock Park.
Courses on offer are
Short 1.0 km. This course will be entirely within Dock Park.
Medium 2.4 km this course will be in Dock Park and part the grass area and quiet streets over the pedestrian bridge to Troqueer.
Long 5 km This course will be mainly in the Troqueer residential area, finishing in Dock Park.
Start times will be 10:30 - 12:00.5 km Cost for members ‐ adults £4.00, juniors £2.00 Non members are welcome but pay a surcharge ‐ adults plus£2.00 juniors plus£1.00
Courses close at 13.00.
